1. Introduction

Welcome to Diane The Celebrant. By booking our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully.

2. Services Provided

Diane Birch offers the following services:

  • Wedding ceremonies

  • Commitment ceremonies

  • Vow renewals

  • Naming ceremonies

  • Funerals and memorial services

  • Other personalised ceremonies

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Booking Process
Clients are required to fill out a booking form and pay a non-refundable deposit of between £50 and £500 (depending on the nature of the booking) to secure the date and time of the ceremony. The amount of deposit required will be confirmed with your booking confirmation. Where Funeral services are booked through the Funeral Director, no deposit is required.

3.2 Payment Terms
The remaining balance is due no less than 60 days before the wedding ceremony date and 30 days for all other ceremonies. Payments can be made via Bank transfer or PayPal. Funeral Service payments where made to the Funeral Director responsbile for the service, will be collected from them.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

4.1 Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations made up to 15 days before the ceremony will receive an 80% refund of the amount paid, excluding the non-refundable deposit.

  • Cancellations made less than 14 days before the ceremony will not be eligible for a refund.

4.2 Celebrant Cancellations

  • If Diane Birch needs to cancel the service due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund, including the deposit, will be provided, or an alternative celebrant will be arranged if possible.

5. Changes to Ceremony Details

5.1 Client-Initiated Changes

  • Any changes to the ceremony details must be communicated in writing at least 14 days prior to the event.

  • Significant changes may incur additional fees.

5.2 Celebrant-Initiated Changes

  • If Diane Birch needs to make any changes to the ceremony details, the client will be notified as soon as possible.

6. Responsibilities of the Client

The client is responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information for the ceremony.

  • Ensuring all legal requirements are met (if applicable).

  • Providing any necessary documents and payments on time.

  • Communicating any special requests or requirements.

7. Responsibilities of the Celebrant

Diane Birch will:

  • Conduct the ceremony professionally and respectfully.

  • Arrive at the venue at the agreed time.

  • Provide a draft of the ceremony script for the client’s approval.

  • Make necessary adjustments to the ceremony script based on the client’s feedback.

  • Perform any other services agreed in writing.

8. Liability

Diane Birch is not liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential losses resulting from the performance of the service.

  • Any delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, illness).

9. Confidentiality

All personal information shared by the client will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of planning and conducting the ceremony.

10. Governing Law and Complaints

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom. Please click here for our complaints policy and process.

11. Agreement

By booking our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms of service.
